I created my account with Bloglines but something was wrong with the site. After I chose some feeds, I got a message to try again later.

American Libraries Direct has a couple of very interesting articles this week. Lots of mashups with Flickr are listed in one article. The most interesting is the article - Internet2 and libraries - http://www.infotoday.com/cilmag/nov07/Werle_Fox.shtml
which discusses how libraries are collaborating and using Internet2.

I started exploring Flickr this week. My first challenge was loading some photos from my home computer onto a flashdrive and then transferring them to Flickr. I created a small set of some pictures I took in Hong Kong a couple of years ago. Of course, one is of the Hong Kong Main Library. Those photos are public so anyone can see them. I didn't have enough time to tag them yet. I'm looking forward to creating another set of family photos that I'll be limiting access to. This all seems more efficient than burning the photos to a CD to share with others.

Flickr is interesting, but I found the site a bit slow. I didn't have enough time to complete mapping and tagging my few photos.

Synchronicity. So many times over the last couple of weeks I have encountered articles about Web 2.o and blogging while the fact that I set up my blog, but hadn't posted anything, was on my mind. The hardest part about being a successful lifelong learner this time is setting the goal and choosing the end. I know so little about the 23 1/2 things now that I'm not sure where I'll go with this and where this learning process will lead. I think an alternate first habit could be "go with the flow".

The easiest part of this process is accepting the responsibility for learning. Newsday had an article in the Money and Career section on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2007 about Web 2.0 about the techs teaching the classes on navigating the web and students who are trying to learn. ALA Direct just reported on a blogging scholarship for college students because a MLS candidate is a finalist. Who knew a blog could bring a student money?
